Most plastics are manufactured by processes involving chain polymerization, polyaddition, or polycondensation reactions.After polymerization, they are pelletized and processed into the final products. Antioxidant is used in above process to prevent shear stress, heat, light, air, water, radiation or mechanical loading, chemical reactions start in the polymer which have the net result of changing the chemical composition and the molecular weight of the polymer which will lead to a change in the physical and optical properties of the polymer. |

Heat stabilizer is mainly used in the processing of PVC to prevent PVC from decomposation under high temperature. Heat stabilizers include the following types: mixed metal stabilizers; tin (organotin) stabilizers, and epoxy co-stabilizers. Barium/Zinc can be used in many PVC compounds as substitutes for cadmium containing stabilizers. Barium/Zinc and Calcium/Zinc heat stabilizers can also be used in wire and cable jacket compounds as a substitute for lead containing stabilizers.
Organo tin stabilizers provide protection during calendering, extrusion and injection molding of rigid PVC. It provide good initial color, and good long term heat stability. |
